Reports to: VCS Secondary Principal & School Administrator

Dates of contract: Part Time, beginning of the 24-25 school year (10 month contract, option to renew)

Job Description:

To be responsible for creating the new Small Engines Class, developing a curriculum and lesson plans, and teaching mechanical skills to high school students at an entry-level. Helping design the space and creating classroom budget. Responsible for supplying and maintaining small engines classroom, tools, materials, and budgeting resources allocated to the program.  Assist with the future expansion and development of the full Industrial Arts program at VCS.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Committed Christian lifestyle and testimony of a personal Faith in Jesus Christ
  • High school diploma or greater
  • Current driver’s license
  • Experience in the mechanical/trade industry
  • Experience in working with hand and power tools and mentoring others in their use
  • Ability to work with high school students/young adults in a classroom setting and in the field
  • Ability to teach tool and shop safety protocols
  • Have proof of current or take part in First Aid/CPR/AED training before the start of the school year
  • Computer skills – word/excel /outlook email
  • Pass a criminal background check
  • Pass a drug test
  • Must be able to routinely lift 50 pounds
