Time Required: Full Time or Part Time – 10 Month Contract August 2025 – June 2026

Responsible To: VCS Secondary Principal

Pay Information:

  • Pay scale: $32,905 to $50,765 based on Experience, Education, and Certifications.
  • Pay is prorated for Part-Time positions based on the percentage of time worked.

Working Days & Hours:

  • 4-day student week with teacher contracts totaling  172 days/Admin 191 days
  • Typical teacher hours: 7:15am–4:15pm, Monday–Thursday; approximately half of Fridays required for parent teacher conferences, In-service trainings, events, or other workdays

Teaching Responsibilities: High School and/or Middle School Teacher

Growth in our student body and course offerings has created the need for additional teachers at Valley Christian! We are looking for dynamic Christian teachers with confidence in teaching in their areas of expertise. We anticipate openings across grades 7-12 in Science. Teaching positions may be full-time or part-time, and may be combined with other content areas that suit the candidate’s interests and abilities. Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Minimum BA/BS Degree in subject area to be taught (or a related field).
  2. Committed Born Again Christian with Spirit-led Christian Life and Testimony.
  3. Commitment to a Biblical Worldview philosophy of education and instruction
  4. ACSI Temporary, Standard, or Professional Teaching Certificate (or willingness to acquire)
  5. Excellent classroom management, communication, organizational skills, and relational instruction.
  6. Ability to work with and differentiate instruction for various learning levels.
  7. A calling and passion to work with the ministry of a Christian school.
  8. Your duties will involve not only the responsibilities ordinarily incumbent with your position at VCS but also those responsibilities related to the special spiritual ministry to which you are called, the training of the child in biblical Christian faith and practice. Employees play a vital role in carrying out the religious mission of instructing the next generation in the faith. In a very real sense, therefore, it is the expectation that you will strive at all times to understand, appreciate, and love the students entrusted to you for their fullest intellectual, physical, emotional, and spiritual development. As a servant of the Lord Jesus Christ, you will faithfully attend the regular services of your church as an example of the believer.

Additional Valued Qualifications:

  1. Secondary (7-12 grade) classroom teaching experience
  2. Christian School teaching experience
  3. Washington or other State Teaching Certificate (preferred, not mandatory)
  4. Experience with a Student Information System (SIS). We use FACTS.
  5. Ability to coach or facilitate extra-curricular activities
