Time Required: Full Time – 10 Month Contract August 11, 2025 – June 12, 2026
Responsible To: VCS Elementary & Secondary Principals
Teaching/Position Responsibilities:
- K-6 Music Theory Classes (one class period per week for each grade level classroom)
- 1st -6th Choirs/Drama Classes
- Junior High Choir
- High School Choir
- Special Event Coordination/Public Performances
- K-12 Veteran’s Day Performance (In coordination with Band and Drama Fine Arts Dept.)
- K-12 Christmas Concert/Drama (In coordination with Band and Drama Fine Arts Dept.)
- Spring Elementary Musical
- Spring Arts Showcase (Jr. High and High School Choir performances)
- Caroling Opportunities (Spokane Valley Mall, Sunshine Health Care)
- Event performance support for Chapels, Grandparent’s Day, VCS Auction, Graduations
- Choir Program competition/performance opportunities
- Elementary Honor Choir
- Solo & Ensemble festival through WMEA
- All State Auditions through WMEA
- Stillwater Christian School Festival
- Large Ensemble Festival through NEMEA
Qualifications:
- Minimum BA/BS Degree in area of Music Education or related educational field.
- ACSI Temporary, Standard, or Professional Teaching Certificate (or willingness to acquire).
- WA State Teaching Certificate (preferred, not mandatory).
- Elementary Music, Drama Production, and Choir Teaching Experience.
- Classroom management skills and relational instruction.
- Born Again Believer and follower of Jesus Christ.
- Committed Spirit led Christian Life/Example.
- Commitment to a Biblical Worldview philosophy of education.
- A calling and passion to work with and love young people in a Christian School setting.
