Pay Information:
- Pay scale: $32,905 to $50,765 based on Experience, Education, and Certifications.
- Pay is prorated for Part-Time positions based on the percentage of time worked.

Working Days & Hours:
- 4-day student week with teacher contracts totaling 172 days/Admin 191 days
- Typical teacher hours: 7:15am–4:15pm, Monday–Thursday; approximately half of Fridays required for parent teacher conferences, In-service trainings, events, or other workdays.
Description of Classes to be Taught:
- Currently Seeking – Math (Algebra, Geometry, Consumer Math), Science (Bio, Chem), and/or Foreign Language
Secondary 7th – 12th grades (16 students per class)
Description of Responsibilities: It is important that homeschool program teachers work well with staff, students, and parents, offering encouragement and support while maintaining a high standard.
- Prepare course syllabus for all classes taught.
- Plan, prepare, and teach lessons using a Biblical Worldview philosophy and meet the needs of multiple learning styles.
- Prepare and send home weekly assignments for all middle and high school classes.
- Grade work that needs teacher oversight; communicate to parents what daily work they can grade. Grade all essays, midterms, and finals.
- Enter grades and attendance in FACTS (school software system).
- Communicate weekly with parents about what was taught in class and what is expected of the students and parents for the week. Inform parents of missing assignments or poor grades.
- Plan and lead 1 Field Trip each year.
- Attend Required In-Services and Events (ex. BTSN, Panther Project, Open House, Homeschool Conference, Annual Auction, Graduation)
Qualifications:
- Minimum BA/BS Degree in the area of instruction or related educational field; or Equivalent Experience
- ACSI Temporary, Standard, or Professional Teaching Certificate (or willingness to acquire)
- WA State Teaching Certificate (preferred, not mandatory)
- Elementary Homeschool and Classroom Teaching Experience
- Committed Christian Life/Testimony
- Commitment to a Biblical Worldview and Christian philosophy of education
- A love for and a passion to work with young people
- Your duties will involve not only the responsibilities ordinarily incumbent with your position at VCS but also those responsibilities related to the special spiritual ministry to which you are called, the training of the child in biblical Christian faith and practice. Employees play a vital role in carrying out the religious mission of instructing the next generation in the faith. In a very real sense, therefore, it is the expectation that you will strive at all times to understand, appreciate, and love the students entrusted to you for their fullest intellectual, physical, emotional, and spiritual development.
