Why Pre-K at VCS?

Valley Christian School’s Approach to Learning in Pre-Kindergarten
Play-Based Learning
Children engage in purposeful play that builds early academic concepts, social skills, and creativity. Our teachers use hands-on activities to spark curiosity and guide learning through joyful exploration.
Biblical Foundations
Each day includes Bible stories, scripture memory, and faith-filled conversations that help children understand God’s love and truth. A biblical worldview is gently woven into all areas of learning.
Social and Emotional Development
We help children navigate emotions, relationships, and routines with kindness and respect. Students practice sharing, taking turns, problem-solving, and listening—all within a nurturing classroom community.
Early Literacy Skills
Students build strong pre-reading foundations through letter recognition, phonemic awareness, and vocabulary development. Our classroom environment supports language growth through stories, songs, and conversation.
Foundational Math Concepts
Young learners explore numbers, patterns, shapes, and counting through hands-on manipulatives, games, and guided practice that prepares them for Kindergarten math.
