Partnering with Families in Home-Based Education

Valley Christian School supports Christian families who have chosen to homeschool by offering academic class options and enrichment opportunities for students in grades K–12. Whether families are seeking core classes, electives, testing, or social connection, our program provides supplemental education grounded in a biblical worldview without compromising the unique strengths of home-based learning.

A supportive bridge between home and school

How Does VCS Support Homeschool Families?

The VCS Homeschool program allows parents to retain full responsibility for their child’s education while accessing the resources of an established Christian school community. With Elementary and Secondary class days, students are challenged in academic courses, have chapel services, participate in electives or athletics, and complete annual academic testing through VCS. Our staff is available to provide guidance, accountability, and encouragement, ensuring families feel supported in their homeschool journey. From Kindergarten through 12th grade, homeschool students can grow academically and spiritually while remaining rooted in the flexibility of home education.

Ways We Support Homeschooling Education

Academic Course Enrollment

Homeschool students enroll in on-campus classes at VCS — with the options of one or two days a week — while continuing oversight of their core education at home. Elementary courses include Bible, History and Science and Secondary course offerings are Bible, History, Science, Math, English & Electives.

Fine Arts and Electives

Allowing students to explore creativity and build well-rounded skills in a classroom setting, homeschool elementary students have enrichment opportunities in pe, music, drama and technology and secondary students have several choices of elective class opportunities.

Standardized Testing Services

VCS offers annual standardized testing to help families track academic progress and meet homeschool accountability requirements.

Spiritual Formation

Homeschool students have regular chapel services throughout the year and participate in other spiritual life and service opportunities, reinforcing a Christ-centered worldview.

Athletic Participation

Eligible homeschool students can join VCS athletic teams, encouraging physical development, teamwork, and school community involvement.

Community and Social Connection

By engaging in classes, events, and extracurriculars, homeschool students gain social experiences in a Christ-centered environment—without losing the flexibility of home education.

VCS welcomed our kids. Every student is noticed, they're not just a number. VCS' curriculum is built around Jesus. To partner with a school that emphasizes that is rewarding.

Being surrounded by teachers who knew the Word, having Bible classes and chapels, all built a base in my life that is priceless. VCS offered strong role models and opportunities for me to grow close to God.

Mrs. Hopson had us go through Philippians like 30 times. That book has marked my life. Thanks to her class, I often refer to it when I am preaching the Gospel around the world.

My teachers knew me so well and chose to get to know me. Some teachers went as far as inviting my entire class over for pizza and games. VCS was a community where teachers were intentional, students felt included, and had a sense of belonging.
