A Joyful Beginning to Lifelong Learning

At Valley Christian School, our Pre-Kindergarten program nurtures young learners in a Christ-centered, play-based environment where curiosity, faith, and foundational skills grow together. Designed for children ages 4โ€“5, Pre-K is a gentle step into structured learning, rooted in love and purpose.

Discover, play, and grow in Christ.

Why Pre-K at VCS?

Choosing Pre-K at Valley Christian School means choosing more than just early education – itโ€™s choosing a Christ-centered foundation for your childโ€™s future. Our program is designed to help 4โ€“5-year-olds thrive socially, emotionally, academically, and spiritually through structured routines and joyful discovery. With small class sizes and caring teachers, each child receives the personal attention they need to grow confidently.

We intentionally blend academic readiness with hands-on learning, emphasizing phonemic awareness, early math skills, and fine motor development. At the same time, students learn to follow directions, share, take turns, and build healthy relationships, all within a warm and nurturing Christian community. Whether your child is full of questions, full of energy, or just ready to explore, our Pre-K program meets them right where they are and helps them take the next step forward in faith and in learning.

Valley Christian Schoolโ€™s Approach to Learning in Pre-Kindergarten

Play-Based Learning

Children engage in purposeful play that builds early academic concepts, social skills, and creativity. Our teachers use hands-on activities to spark curiosity and guide learning through joyful exploration.

Biblical Foundations

Each day includes Bible stories, scripture memory, and faith-filled conversations that help children understand Godโ€™s love and truth. A biblical worldview is gently woven into all areas of learning.

Social and Emotional Development

We help children navigate emotions, relationships, and routines with kindness and respect. Students practice sharing, taking turns, problem-solving, and listeningโ€”all within a nurturing classroom community.

Early Literacy Skills

Students build strong pre-reading foundations through letter recognition, phonemic awareness, and vocabulary development. Our classroom environment supports language growth through stories, songs, and conversation.

Foundational Math Concepts

Young learners explore numbers, patterns, shapes, and counting through hands-on manipulatives, games, and guided practice that prepares them for Kindergarten math.

Structured Routine with Flexibility

Our classroom balances predictable structure with the flexibility needed for young children to thrive. A consistent rhythm helps students feel secure while supporting their natural curiosity and energy.

My favorite part is the parent/teacher relationship and how welcome they make you feel. You truly feel like you are involved and not just someone at the front gate picking up after school.

My teachers knew me so well and chose to get to know me. Some teachers went as far as inviting my entire class over for pizza and games. VCS was a community where teachers were intentional, students felt included, and had a sense of belonging.

As soon as we walked in the door, this school felt like home. My husband and I visited a few schools in the area when our oldest was ready to start kindergarten, and we loved the community feeling at VCS. When I showed up to an event with my kindergartner, preschooler, and baby, several of the older students made conversation with me and my kids and generally helped us all feel welcome. That speaks to the kind of character that this school nurtures. These kids are already shining their light!

My husband and I are constantly sharing our experiences we've had at VCS. It's a blessing to my family. From the moment we walked into VCS, it's so apparent that God comes first.
