Time Required: November 13, 2023 to March 2, 2024
Responsible To: Head Coach, Athletic Director and High School Principal
Responsibilities:
- Be available for all games and practices
- Support the head coach by teaching basketball skills, strategies and running practices
- Assist head coach in communication to athletes, parents, and athletic director
- Assist with care of athletic uniforms – distributing to athletes and collecting at end of season
- Maintain WIAA coaching credentials for the State of Washington, if applicable
- Help keep athletes accountable to school policies per sports/coach’s handbook
- Assist with advancement of the girls’ basketball program by interacting with the younger players
- Support athletic fundraising efforts as needed
- Help organize and facilitate senior night
- May be called upon to assist with after-game social activities
- Help organize a post-season awards banquet
Qualifications:
- Related basketball experience through coaching, playing, or practical experience
- Born Again Christian with evident Christian walk
- Ability to effectively mentor and disciple teenage girls both on and off the court
- Good communication and organizational skills
- Passion to work with young people
- Valid First Aid Card or willingness to obtain one
