Hello! My name is April Brook, and I am the newest homeschool teacher at VCS. I teach world studies to the middle school as well as English to the middle school, the combined freshmen/sophomore class, and the combined junior/senior class. I love history, literature, and diagramming sentences!

I was born in Seattle and spent the first fourteen years of my life living in various suburbs in Seattle. We moved to Montana when I was in high school.  My first teaching position was in the tiny town of Judith Gap, Montana.  The “Gap”, as it is called, is where I met and married my husband.  God led us to Washington not long after we were married.  We love Spokane!

My teaching career has given me great joy along with a wealth of experiences. I have also been a school librarian, an elementary teacher, a

playground aid, a homeschool teacher to my two children (Micah and Rachel), and a substitute teacher.

Fun facts: when I taught in Judith Gap, I lived fifteen miles outside of town. The house that I rented had been a school and home to the teacher of the town of Bercail (elevation 5800 ft. above sea level). The buildings surrounding the house had once included a stagecoach stop, a feed store, and a post office.
